DEVELOPING MANAGEMENT SKILLS THROUGH SERVICE
Utah State Students Give Back To the Community That Supports Them
LOGAN, Utah— A group of Management Human Resource (MHR) students are using their final class project to benefit the Logan community by cleaning up the yards and street gutters of those in the community who could use an extra hand.
“Why not connect with and serve those who support us and our education?” Says Megan Foulger, CEO of group.
The aim of the project is to connect students with their community through service, while they also develop managerial skills. The service project will take place Saturday Nov. 1, 2008, 11:00a.m. – 1:00p.m. The group plans to clean up the gutters along Logan streets, focusing mainly on residential areas with elderly residents. The group hopes that the service rendered will help prevent the elderly residents’ homes from flooding cause by the dammed irrigation water in the gutters.
“We hope to get at least 75 volunteers.” Says Foulger.
The project group consists of 10 members and they are open to volunteers. To get involved with the Logan community clean up, email Megan Foulger at megan.foulger@aggiemail.usu.edu.
