Nobody Knows You're a DogWhat more is there to say. On the internet you can be whatever you want or whomever you want to be. Basically this cartoon is saying it's easy to make up your own identity or maybe it is saying that who even cares who you are. You could be someone but there's so many "someones" it really doesn't matter. Ok, now I've just gone and confused myself on this comment.
Facebook:"Facebook is changing the nature of relationships." I agree but only if we let it. Honestly the people I want to have real relationships with I stay in contact in other ways and spend time with them in other more "natural" ways. I do like facebook to catch up quickly with old friends that may have only been in my life for a short time but I still appreciated that time but if we don't get to see eachother that often I am ok.
Again, facebook can be intrusive if you let it be. If I post pictures I put them up because I want to share them; it would be stupid to put intimate and personal things up on something so public. People can be stupid in how they use the system but how it is used is entirely up to that person.
I honestly think it is silly when people see how many friends they can get on facebook. I laugh when people request to be my friend just because we went to highshool together but we never once spoke two words to each other. I never accept them. Like I said before; I use facebook to keep in contact with people who were actually part of my life.
"Talking is so last year" WHAT?! That is the problem with technology; we're forgetting the important basics of genuine relationships.
